The work of a stupid engraver who ruined a coin. The image of the bull is cut to the point of complete loss of authenticity.

Dates for his reign are incorrect. Should be 123-88 BC, not 255-250 BC.

The Mabbott/Schulman provenance is apparently in error: Neither catalog illustrates the coin or gives a weight, but it is described as Commodus/Poseidon standing, BMC --. That description would fit Lot 744 of this sale (provenance listed to Cabinet Numismatique Peiresc, 25 Nov 1995, perhaps mistakenly switched with this lot's).
(Nor is this coin Mabbott 887 [illustrated; different legend arrangement].)
In any case, the Mabbott provenance is incorrect for this lot.
